The Lionman Foundation
The Lionman Foundation (LMF) was established in 2000 by founder Grandmaster Eric O’Neal, Sr. as a non-profit organization designed to expand and broaden services provided by community and educational institutions. GrandMaster O’Neal has contracts with the city of New Orleans, Wisner Foundation, the New Orleans Public Schools and nationally with Save the Children.
The Lionman Foundation (LMF) program provides critical summer and after-school enrichment through a model curriculum that supports children and families around five essential components: high quality academic enrichment, parent and family involvement, civic engagement and social action, intergenerational leadership development, and nutrition, health and mental health.
The Lionman Foundation (LMF) programs has been providing a positive refuge and learning experience for the youth of New Orleans for over 20 years. The LMF expands on programming to at-risk youth who otherwise could not participate. The Foundation uses martial arts and drill team training as the vehicle for developing and reinforcing spirit and discipline, health and physical conditioning, self-defense, and propagation of culture and heritage.
All LMF activities and programs reinforce that education is a critical foundation for future success, and that self-discipline, self-esteem, and respect for others are key to success in education. The Lionman Foundation began in 2000 but received its recognition as a 501(c) (3) organization on Jan. 9, 2004.
